Sectors

A Sector represents an operational unit within your organization. It is a structural layer used to group events, volunteers, departments, and reporting boundaries under a defined branch of activity.

If your parent organization runs multiple independent initiatives, programs, or conventions, each of those should typically be created as its own Sector.

Conceptually, a Sector allows one organization to operate multiple semi-independent divisions within a single system while maintaining clean data separation and reporting clarity.

Example Structure

  • Parent Organization: Great Conventions

Under that organization, you might create three sectors:

  • Cartoon Con
  • BookFest
  • Cars and Coffee

Each of these would function independently in the system, even though they belong to the same parent organization.
